Mitchell County Animal Rescue

in Memory of

Hannah Andrews-Robertson.

Hannah Andrews-Robertson was a beloved member of the First Presbyterian Church family who passed away after a brief and unexpected illness in September 2020. She was born in Durham, NC and her family moved to Spruce Pine and joined FPC when Hannah was ten years old. For over two decades, Hannah was a very active member of the Youth Group, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and the annual Big Mission Trips. Her dedication and faithfulness equipped Hannah to step into a leadership role as an adult. Hannah served as the Youth Group Director, Administrative Assistant for the church office and as a Sunday School teacher.

Hannah enjoyed working with young people, she loved to volunteer at the local animal shelter and had a special connection with animals of all shapes and sizes. She was also a skilled baker; cheesecakes were her specialty. Most of all, though, Hannah loved her family. Hannah was a daughter to Scott and Melinda Andrews, sister to Haley and Ashley, wife to Hunter Robertson, and a loyal and devoted friend to many. Included in her family were all the young people in the First Presbyterian Youth Group.

As Youth Group Director, Hannah organized several volunteer trips and charitable donations to Mitchell County Animal Rescue. In honor of Hannah and her love of all of God's creatures, the First Presbyterian Youth Group is pleased to donate $1,000 in her name to Mitchell County Animal Rescue to further the mission of this vital and important Mitchell County non-profit. First Presbyterian Church Youth Group raises and administers funds to local charities through the 2-Cents-A-Meal Program. Hannah was an active participant in the program for the majority of her life. As a child she was taught the core Christian principle that we all have a responsibility to serve God's creatures who are in need. As an adult, she helped pass along this teaching to our young people. Thank you Hannah for showing us all how to love and serve in such a selfless way.
